computer networking definition

computer networking definition is defined as a group of two or more computer systems linked together. There are many types of computer networks, including the following: local-area networks (LANs): The computers are geographically close together.

network consists of two or more computers that are linked in order to share resources (such as printers and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic communications. ... Two very common types of networks include: Local Area Network (LAN) Wide Area Network (WAN).

The full form of Internet is “Interconnected Network”. The Internet is a global structure of interconnected computer networks. Millions of people and private academic, industry and government networks are spread all over the world.

A computer network is a group of computer systems and other computing hardware devices that are linked together through communication channels to facilitate communication and resource-sharing among a wide range of users.

Networks definition computer

A Networks definition computer is a group of two or more computers connected with each other for sharing resources and information. A simple computer network can be built only from two computers while a complex computer network can be built from several thousand computers.

computer network is a set of computers connected together for the purpose of sharing resources. The most common resource shared today is connection to the Internet. Other shared resources can include a printer or a file server. The Internet itself can be considered a computer network.

Networking types

The Network allows computers to connect and communicate with different computers via any medium. LAN, MAN and WAN are the three major Networking types designed to operate over the area they cover. There are some similarities and dissimilarities between them. One of the major differences is the geographical area they cover, i.e. LAN covers the smallest area; MAN covers an area larger than LAN and WAN comprises the largest of all.

There are other types of Computer Networks also, like
·         PAN (Personal Area Network)
·         SAN (Storage Area Network)
·         EPN (Enterprise Private Network)
·         VPN (Virtual Private Network)
LAN or Local Area Network connects network devices in such a way that personal computer and workstations can share data, tools and programs. The group of computers and devices are connected together by a switch, or stack of switches, using a private addressing scheme as defined by the TCP/IP protocol.
MAN or Metropolitan area Network covers a larger area than that of a LAN and smaller area as compared to WAN. It connects two or more computers that are apart but resides in the same or different cities. It covers a large geographical area and may serve as an ISP (Internet Service Provider). MAN is designed for customers who need a high-speed connectivity.
WAN or Wide Area Network is a computer network that extends over a large geographical area, although it might be confined within the bounds of a state or country.

lan definition

Lan definition is privately-owned networks. They provide a useful way of sharing resources between end users. The resources such as printers, file servers, scanners, and internet are easily sharable among other connected computers in a network.

Local area networks (LANs) are computer networks ranging in size from a few computers in a single office to hundreds or even thousands of devices spread across several buildings. They function to link computers together and provide shared access to printers, file servers, and other services.
·         It is a private network, so an outside regulatory body never controls it.

·         LAN operates at a relatively higher speed compared to other WAN systems.
·         There are various kinds of media access control methods like token ring and ethernet.

Networking in home, office. Networking in school, laboratory, university campus. Networking between two computers.

Local Network

A LAN is a local network of computers that are all connected to each other. Unlike a WLAN, which uses wireless technology to connect computers, local area networks use a series ofEthernet cables and a router. If you want to connect your computer to a nearby LAN for networking or Internet purposes, you'll need to use an Ethernet cable to connect your machine to the router.

A LAN only supports a limited number of connections, so if there is no free input on the back of the router you won't be able to connect your computer to the LAN.

If a free input is availablePlug the Ethernet cable into your computer. Computers typically have at least one Ethernet output. They are located on the back of the computer's case for desktops or on one of the sides for laptops.

Insert theEthernet cable into the free input on the back of your LAN router. Once connected, your computer will be automatically connected to the LAN.

what is computer networking

what is computer networking ? A computer networking is a set of interconnected computers that are connected wirelessly or via cabling for the purpose of sharing media or data. The computers on a network, also known as nodes, can share resources including access to the internet, printers, and file servers, or allow electronic communications.
A computer network consists of at least two computers that may be linked via radio waves, cables, satellites, telephone lines, or infrared light beams. There are other mediums or devices that help the different devices communicate such as a switch, router, bridge or hub, which are known as network devices.
Altogether, these hardware and software combine to make computer networking possible such that the interconnected devices can share information, data, resources, and other network devices.

the internet is a wan.

The internet is a WAN because, through the use of ISPs, it connects lots of smaller local area networks (LANs) or metro area networks (MANs). On a smaller scale, a business may have a WAN that's comprised of cloud services, its headquarters, and smaller branch offices.

The WAN port in a WiFi router is essentially connecting you to the real "internet". The cable coming out of modem, or if a PPPoE connection, a simple RJ45 ethernet cable are to be plugged in the WAN port. The WAN cable transmits the data from Internet to "Subnet" created by your router.

A wide area network is a geographically distributed private telecommunications network that interconnects multiple local area networks (LANs). Typically, a router or other multi function device is used to connect a LAN to a WAN.

wifi as a service

WiFi as a Service is a subscription-based service that combines three key elements: infrastructure, software, and managed services.
With WiFi as a Service, we have taken our proprietary methodology—developed over the last eleven years designing and installing large-scale wireless networks (on average 450 access points per deployment)—and packaged virtually every aspect of a high-performing, secure WiFi network into one end-to-end solution.
Our  WiFi as a Service are flexible. There are two primary routes you can take: You can either a) purchase the hardware or equipment with a large one-time payment and then purchase managed services using a monthly subscription, or b) purchase everything through WiFi as a Service.
The first option might work for large companies with big budgets who want to own their own infrastructure.
However, the second option is what we really recommend, because it addresses the relatively short life cycle of a high-quality wireless network and the devices that are connecting to it.
WiFi is no longer “optional extra” when it comes to providing connectivity to employees or consumers. Companies now consider it critical to business operations, and are now turning to outsourced providers to ensure nothing is left to chance when it comes to ensuring the quality of service—even if that means bypassing the traditional networking and IT departments.

managed wifi

Managed WiFi (Wireless LAN) provides private wireless access for employees and a public WiFi network for guests in one fully managed, end-to-end solution. The service includes built-in security and handles over 100 users per access point.

Managed WiFi provides WiFi internet access for guests, residents and employees throughout a property. The design typically include devices such as wireless controllers, wireless access points, switches and extensive cabling.

Residential Managed WiFi (cloud-enabled WiFi) is a remote maintenance and support model for home WiFi networks. Managed WiFi for the home allows consumers and their service providers to remotely troubleshoot and improve network performance, utilizing cloud-based monitoring and administrative tools.

wi fi support

Here are just a few reasons to set up a wireless network in your home: Freedom to access the Internet from anywhere within the signal range and move your devices around your home - anywhere within the Wi Fi support signal range - without losing your connection.

Wi-Fi direct allows devices without their own internet connection to connect to one which does. In the case of Android Smartphones and devices, you can connect them and quickly transfer files without the hassle of cables.

A computer must have a wireless network interface controller, or wireless adapter, installed to connect to a Wi-Fi network. The adapter enables the computer to detect Wi-Fi signals from a router so that the PC can transfer and receive data over the Internet.
